Southern Ghost T3 50mcg is a brand name for liothyronine sodium, a synthetic thyroid hormone. Women use it to treat conditions involving low thyroid hormone levels or specific thyroid related disorders.
Common medical reasons include hypothyroidism, T3 replaces deficient thyroid hormone and helps to improve fatigue, weight gain related to hypothyroidism, cold intolerance, constipation, depression like symptoms and dry skin and hair changes.
Some people who still feel unwell on standard levothyroxine alone may be prescribed liothyronine in combination therapy under endocrinologist supervision.
Sometimes used temporarily in thyroid cancer treatment protocols or testing.
